A few weeks ago I bought a pair of shoes for Kyra and she loves them. She wants to wear them all of the time. The other night she actually brought them to me after I put her jammies on. That outfit was toooo cute.
On Friday Cortlynn brought her homework home and I found a poem she had written inside. I used to write poems and actually had one published in a book YEARS ago, so I'm sure her talent came from me. ;-) teeheehee
She received a perfect score with an "Absolutely Fabulous" written on it. They had to base their poems on a story that was read in the class and she came up with a great one. I was so impressed I just had to post it on here.
Me and Him, Him and Me
By: Cortlynn McIntire
He looks at me,
I look at him,
The moon shines down on us.
I promised him,
He promised me,
The flashlight dims on us.
The love the ground provided us,
The air that was pure,
Saw me and him,
Him and me,
By the fire pits grove.
The air was bitter,
The sky was red,
The day all lives,
Were filled with dread.
Lives were struck,
Lives were lost,
The sun came up,
Like bitter frost.
We just lay there,
Across the plains,
Hoping me and him, Him and me,
Will defeat the crow someday.
