I can't believe how fast the years fly by and Cortlynn is now 13 years old. I have a TEENAGER??? How crazy is that? I remember turning 13---Cortlynn's hair is better (thankfully she hasn't discovered SunIn) and she doesn't like bright blue eyeshadow)-I hope she will have fond memories of becoming a teen. She really wanted a red velvet cake-and she had pinned so many cake decorations on Pinterest that narrowing it down was the challenge. I kept my plans a secret so she was so surprised when she came home from dance and saw it. I thought I did an ok job--especially since I volunteered at the school for 2 hours, had a mystery shop to complete, and was called in to give a statement at the police station--ON TOP of trying to decorate the cake while entertaining Kyra and Brynlee. I was just slightly overwhelmed. I didn't have the patience for 12/13 year old girl drama, so a full blown birthday party wasn't an option. Instead-she is planning on having 2 friends over to watch Catching Fire---hopefully this weekend. Trying to schedule this in between the 3 girl's schedule has been difficult. Cortlynn chose to eat at Pizza Pie Cafe-I didn't argue with that one-we were able to do that just this last weekend. YUMMY!
I did the crepe paper thing this year while she was at school-I just barely took this down yesterday. |
Happy Birthday Cortlynn!!!! We love you so much!
