Day 2

We woke up in the morning and began our journey to Las Vegas.  The kids did really well-no fighting, no crying, not needing to stop for potty breaks every 15minutes.  Just great.  We stopped in some town (I honestly don't know where) and ate lunch at a Burger King.  After lunch we continued to Las Vegas.  The drive was hot, and hot, and did I say HOT.  When we arrived in Vegas I read my map and after 30 minutes located our hotel.  We stayed at a hotel off the strip-but the drive to the strip was very easy.  Since Devin wasn't scheduled to fly in for another couple of hours, we decided we would get to the strip and begin our Vegas experience.  Finding a parking area was probably the most frustrating-and I finally found a free parking area behind the Luxor.  We walked over to Excalibur and the kids were amazed that it looked like a castle.,  We did go inside for a total of 15 minutes since I don't handle crowds well, and became quite overwhelmed.  (I know-perhaps Vegas wasn't the best choice)  Devin finally called and was at our meeting location (Excalibur)  We decided to walk down to the big McDonald's on the strip for dinner-and hoped the kids would enjoy the sites on the way (minus the naughty cards all over the ground)  We were able to watch the water show at the Bellagio (LOVE--and the later show was the music I walked down the aisle to 14yrs ago), we watched the volcano erupt, and walked all the way to Treasure Island for the show-just to find out it was closed.  Oh well- by this time we decide to turn around and take the long walk back.  I always forget that the distance is so much further than it looks.  I came home and googled it and we had walked 6 miles-but that doesn't include the added walking within the casinos.  We got back to the hotel a little after 1am and crashed.  Overall-it was good day.  I warned the kids that some of the things they may see aren't appropriate and try not to stare.  (tasseled covered boobs, naughty cards on the ground, women walking around in hardly any clothes--and thank goodness I was the only one "lucky" enough to see the homeless man relieving himself on the Luxor sign for ALL to see; minus my kids)  I think next time-we will just drive thru at night for them to see the lights. Leave the visiting to me and Devin.

I used this carrier for about the first half of our evening-and Brynlee and Kyra would take turns with the stroller.  My back hurt SO BAD.  Probably the double stoller would have been a good thing.
