My parents stopped by our house on Friday and we took a short drive up to the high school to look at the Field of Heroes. I know I've posted about this previously-but every time I go, I just think WOW. Volunteers set it up just for Memorial Day weekend and it is a memorial for all of those that have been killed since the war in Iraq and Afghanistan began. You don't know the magnitude until you see each cross with each soldiers name on it. It really is a sombre place.
Saturday morning we woke up and packed up the car to leave. Devin worked all night but was able to get home before we left. I had Devin take a photo of us in front of the house right before we left. All smiles-
Still smiles in the car---but we were just at the gas station in Pocatello.
We made a stop in Salt Lake to visit Temple Square. None of my children have been there and they were excited to get out of the car for a few minutes. I tried, yes I really did try to get a photo of the kids in front of the statue-but NONE of them would cooperate. Such stinkers.
It really ended up being a beautiful day to visit. Tristan could have stayed longer, but I wanted to get to Provo at a decent time. As soon as we parked in the hotel parking lot-I looked at Kyra and she had the "look". The look of --oh no, I'm going to throw up--- NICE. It was the one and only vomit episode of our journey.
