Baby Shower

Just a few weeks  ago I sat down in front of my neighbors at Church and the neighbor lady asked me when my baby was due.  I told her the date the twin girls were supposed to arrive and she looked at me in shock.  she hadn't heard the news.  At that moment she tells me that she will be throwing me a baby shower.  I didn't think too much of it-until a week later when I receive a text asking if this date/time would work for the shower.  The shower was 2 weeks ago in my neighbors front yard.  She decorated with pink balloons, folded fancy napkins, made a chicken/walnut salad, mini pink cupcakes, and flavored water.  She actually hand delivered invites to all the neighbors as well as every single women in the ward.  I was surprised by how many wonderful neighbors and friends showed up.  Based on the gift list my visiting teacher kept-there were 32 women.  I really don't do well with crowds, but this was fun.  I received so many cute outfits, diapers, wipes, gift cards, and so many other items a mom that is expecting twins needs.  There are still ladies that weren't able to attend stop by and drop off gifts.  So much help and support from people I don't really know other than in passing at church.

This was a diaper cake the hostess and her daughter -in- law made.

This photo shows the items I received at the shower.  It does not include the items I have receied since the shower.

The photo below is just a random photo of the girls asleep downstairs after a hard day of playing.  They may fight a lot-but at the end of the day they really do love each other.

32 weeks

Here is the lovely photo of me at 32 weeks.  I think I'm looking a little tired, which is true because I AM tired.  Sleep doesn't happen and neither does a nap.  Uncomfortable is really an understatement.  I am now lucky enough to experience terrible heartburn. I also have a condition where little red pin head spots pop up on my body, "bubble up" after a while, and than will pop and bleed.  These little spots bleed forever!!! and than I am left with nasty looking scars.  My doctor told me they should stop once the pregnancy is over. I hope so.  The last few nights I have had swelling in my lower legs and feet.  YEAH!!!  So excited for that.  Beginning this next week, I will be seeing my doctor weekly and having weekly non-stress tests-with ultra-sounds as needed.  I'm getting a little closer to being more prepared for the girls to get here.  I am in need of a dresser and asked DEvin to paint an old dresser we have in the garage.  He took this last week off to "help" and after fishing and doing Man things for several days finally began working on it.  I went outside and saw that he decided to strip off all the previous paint.  Needless to say-this project will never be done and I've decided to have Kyra and Brynlee share a dresser and the twins will share Brynlee's dresser.  AAAHHHH sometimes men really drive me crazy!~!  He did get his pertussis vaccine yesterday---and yes, his arm was hurting so he had to rest last night.  REALLY?!?!?!?!?  Another confirmation to me that if men were to suffer thru PMS, pregnancy, and giving birth----civilization would be dead!

Everything Dance

With being pregnant with twins it has been so hard for me to keep up with everything else in life on this blog.  We have had such a busy year with dance and we are still not quite done--a little over a week left and than we will have 2 months off.
Tristan took both ballet and tap this year and really excelled at both!  He is such a cute performer and ALL the girls love him-especially the older girls.  He is going to be such a lady killer with a lot of girl dancer friends.

Isn't he so cute?  Tristan and Ian are best friends!!!
Of course Cortlynn is a beauty!  She did an amazing job in both Swan Lake as well as her recital performances.  It's amazing how much she has grown in her talent.
Kyra is our little ballerina.  She LOVED her weekly class and was so excited for the recital. Unfortunately-the rest of her class had stage fright and didn't want to perform so they just stood there---Kyra stood there too, with a scowl on her face!

Brynlee wanted to be a part of the dance photos too.  Looks like she will be in dance in just a few months.

Kyra was so excited to get flowers after her recital performance.

Tristan was AWESOME in his tap performance.  The only boy and he stood out for just being awesome!

30 Weeks

I've made it to 30 weeks and am definitely feeling it.  I haven't gained a ton of weight-but what I have gained is all in my tummy area so my balance is off.  At my ultrasound last week Baby A is still head down but Baby B flipped and is currently breach. (I'm pretty sure I know exactly when she flipped-during sacrament 2 weeks ago.  My entire right side of my tummy rose up and shifted.  Cortlynn even saw it and asked what was going on)  Hopefully she flips again because I'm pretty terrified of a C-Section.  I've been pretty fortunate not to get a lot of stretch marks but the veins on my belly are nasty.  We call them "Bella Veins". If you're familiar with the movie Twilight you know what I'm talking about.  Not a lot of new symptoms-pretty much the same.  Except the other night I could not lift my legs more than a couple inches off the floor.  So walking, going up the stairs, getting into bed, moving in bed, and even driving the next day was almost an impossibility.  The pain felt like I was breaking in two.  SOOOOOO PAINFUL.  I continue to have Braxton Hix contractions and some are pretty intense-but at my appointment last Tuesday-nothing had changed.

28 Weeks and Counting

Here are the Week 28 photos.  Pretty much the same pregnancy "issues" as before--tired, uncomfortable, slight swelling, lots of back pain, waddling, can't see my feet, my pregnancy pants are falling off b/c my belly is too big, and my hair and nails are growing SO fast!
A few new things going on: I've had Braxton Hix contractions daily--A LOT of them.  Some are quite painful. The babies are very active-and my belly is constantly moving and rolling.  My hair is no longer gray--Nope, it is now coming in WHITE!!!!!  WHITE!~So gross.

Waist-43 1/2 inches

WHITE hair---this twin pregnancy is really aging me.  ;-)

Happy Birthday Brynlee!

Our little Brynlee turned 2 years old on May 3.  I can't believe she is already 2 going on 16.  The terrible 2's are definitely here and are FULL BLOWN tantrums at times.  Yippee for me.  ;-)  She is just such a cutie and I love her SOOOOOOOOOOOO Much!!!

I didn't make her a cake--but I did pick up some mini-cupcakes.  Perfect size for a little women.

The week before we had Swan Lake performances and Heather, Josh, and the kids came over.  Heather was a great aunt/mom and brought a cake to celebrate 3 birthdays: Andi's, Carys', and Brynlee's.

Week 26

Week 26---hmmmm. Sure is crazy that I'm already at week 26.  Some days I feel as if I'm 40 weeks pregnant, but I guess that is expected when you're expecting twins.  My symptoms are pretty much the same: Nauseous all of the time. I think I'm hungry-try to eat-and than get so sick to my stomach.  I get so tired and have actually had to sit on the stairs for a rest while going upstairs. There are days that I just can't get comfortable-I lay on the couch, sit in a chair, stand, lean, you name it-and nothing is comfortable so I just cry.  I'm pretty pathetic.  A new thing now is if I sit in a car too long (for work) I literally cannot walk.  Yesterday it took me 10 minutes to get from the car in the garage to the couch inside the house.  It was sooo painful!  It feels as if my "girlie part" is breaking----now is that even possible? Sure hope not.  I had an ultrasound last week and the girls look great.  Both had their heads down and they kept hitting each other during the scan.  The radiologist told me that I had a "body for twins". Not sure what that means....  After the ultrasound I met with my doctor where I had gained 4 pounds and my iron is REALLY low-  Yippee--iron supplements.  At church my neighbor asked how I was feeling because I looked really pale-I told her about my iron and she told me about a liquid iron supplement you can get at a natural herb store.  Worth a try.  Holy cow! It smells so bad-like rotten butt and I it tastes like I would imagine rotten butt tastes like.  SOOOO NAsty!  I will mix it into a smoothie which helps cover up the taste and the smell.  Haven't noticed a huge change-but it is still early.

Here are the photos from the ultrasound last week.  I think they are beautiful!!!!
